But because we’d spent over a decade pushing the limits of technical apparel innovation for other activities, we knew it was possible to do a whole lot better. And for us, that felt personal.
So we ditched our jobs, rolled up our sleeves, and got to work, determined to bring our maker’s ethos and experience to bike apparel. We wanted to prove that bike gear can give you the freedom to push further and faster, only turning for home when you’re ready, and not because of the weather.
After 18 months shuttling between our design room and the local mountains, our debut collection hit the ground rolling in 2015.
From those very first days drafting patterns and creating samples in our Squamish studio, we’ve been elevating fabrics, fit and function into possibility, building advanced road, gravel and mountain bike apparel to help riders pursue adventure in any weather, at every elevation.
For a small town, Squamish has big reach. With the vibrant, tech-forward city of Vancouver to the south, and the mountains of Whistler to the north, the “Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada” sits at the intersection of creativity and adventure.
And it’s a mecca for all sorts of riding. Fueled by a culture of strong local design and the world-beating reach of Vancouver’s famed softgoods movement, insane trails and a vibrant cycling community, Squamish is the ideal place to start a bike apparel brand.
Out beyond Squamish, the province of British Columbia offers an ever-ready product proving ground — from hot arid desert interior, to soaking and cold temperate rainforest coast, to higher altitude skiing and mountaineering locations. If a product works, we soon know. And if it doesn’t, we’re in the right place to build and ride in the next version.
Our product philosophy is to aim for invisible by refining every line, seam and shape. When we’ve got something in the ballpark, we ride it, taking new ideas to the testing ground outside our door. Then we build upon what worked and improve anything that took us out of the moment, repeating the process until we only see the ride ahead. (And the trees — that’s important).
The right product for the ride ahead, and the one over the next hill. It’s not for everyone, but by innovating with premium fabrics, considered tailoring, and applying new techniques and advanced, ergonomic fits, we make gear that goes the distance, wherever you’re riding.
